You’re A Big Deal: Mircea Monroe, from the hit WB show, “Hart Of Dixie”
Exclusive interview with Mircea Monroe
WBD: What inspired you to start acting and how did you get started?
It was just this burning feeling that I had to do it. I just had to.
WBD: Tell us about playing 2 completely different roles regularly and simultaneously on Hart of Dixe & Episodes? and do you have a favorite of the two characters?
Both characters that I play (Morning Randolph and Tansy Truitt) are wonderfully delicious. I feel like playing two characters at once lets me get all my acting cravings met.
WBD: Who are your biggest industry influences?
My biggest influences are the people who not only have talent and skill, but are also kind and stuffed with integrity. I’m not impressed if you’re really amazing at what you do. I’m impressed and inspired and influenced if you’re amazing at what you do and are also a wonderful human being.
WBD: What is your favorite part of your job?
Oh wow, it’s so hard to pick a favorite part. I love the moment when all the work and preparation melts away and you just get to be really present. That feels amazing. And the feeling when you’ve nailed it. That’s pretty awesome. And the path to getting there. And the extraordinary talent I get to work with. See, I can’t choose!
WBD: Tell us one of the coolest things that’s happened in your career so far.
The coolest thing is probably now having this career and getting offered awesome parts with people I admire and respect. That’s pretty neat.
WBD: If you weren’t an actor, what would you be doing right now?
Everything. I’d probably still be taking classes and trying to decide. I’m so hungry to learn every single thing.
WBD: What’s coming up for you that you’re excited about?
Season 4 of Episodes starts this year which is pretty fantastic.
WBD: What advice do you have for someone wanting to start down your path?
Do the work to really know yourself. A strong personal foundation will be your greatest asset.
